Management Trainee Program
The Amalgamated Life Management Trainee Program is designed for recent college graduates to develop core business and leadership competencies in a progressive insurance company. Amalgamated Life appreciates the importance of bringing new ideas and ways of thinking into the organization. Both program participants and the Company benefit from the program, which offers meaningful job rotations and training that will attract and develop diverse candidates who can make a difference.
The Management Trainee Program lasts over a two-year cycle.
First Year
Each trainee will be placed in a division based on his/her education, qualifications and experience. The trainee will have an opportunity to hold several positions within each division.
Examples:
- Finance: Financial Analysis, Internal Auditing, Accounting and Investment Reporting
- Marketing: Sales, Proposal Writing, Direct Marketing and Event Coordination
- MIS: Web Development, Network Administration and Programming
Second Year
If the trainee has not found a niche in his/her respective division after the first year, the trainee will be assigned to other departments or divisions with shorter cycles.
Program Support
Each management trainee:
- Will be assigned an executive mentor who will advise and assist the management trainee through his/her rotations.
- Will be given mid- and end of rotation written performance appraisals.
- Will be eligible for special compensation consideration with accelerated six-month salary increases based on meeting performance objectives during the rotations.
Educational Support
Each trainee will be encouraged to enroll in a post-graduate Masters or MBA program appropriate to the anticipated career path.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in finance, business administration, marketing, or information technology
- GPA of a 3.5 or better
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated initiative, dedication, and desire to become a management professional
